VERNEL FOURNIER was a drummer best known for his work in the Ahmad Jamal trio. In 1994 he suffered a stroke which tragically ended his musical career, although he would live into the next decade. This program is for a benefit that was held for Fournier on October 16, 1994 at Bradley's, the famous Jazz club in New York. The concert was a testament to Fournier's widespread influence and appreciation. It was a remarkable tribute to a remarkable musician.
