The highly original tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander shines on Temple of Olympic Zeus, one of his best recordings. Alexander performs a lyrical version of "Some Other Time" and a hard-swinging "Blues for David." Four selections add the trumpet of Jim Rotondi, a particularly suitable match with Alexander. Pianist David Hazeltine joins, as well as bassist Nat Reeves and drummer Joe Farnsworth. But the main star is Eric Alexander, a noteworthy current musician.
